OSIsoft to provide PI System to Yorkshire Water in UK

OSIsoft, a US-based provider of the PI System, has entered into an Enterprise Agreement with Yorkshire Water, which will expand the use of the PI System as their real-time data and event infrastructure for clean water and wastewater management.

Yorkshire Water, a leading UK water and waste water utility, serves over 4.7 million people and 130,000 businesses in the north rast of England through operations that comprise over 700 water and sewage treatment works, 120 reservoirs, and 62,000 miles of water and sewerage mains.

The PI System provides a secure, robust and high performance real-time data infrastructure to the Yorkshire Water. This will enable the company to collect data from devices and systems from more than 40 different vendors throughout the utilities network.

Yorkshire Water Telemetry Information team manager Nick Hook said that the company needs a suitable technology the allows it to respond to new and emerging requirements.

OSIsoft Global Water Industry principal Gary Wong said, "Our strategic partnership enhances Yorkshire Water as a fully integrated and sustainable, real-time water utility.
