Insituform Secures Sewer Rehabilitation Project In Hong Kong

Insituform Technologies has secured two term contract renewals worth $17m from the Drainage Services Department, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for rehabilitating wastewater pipelines throughout Central District and Mainland North District for three and five years, respectively.

The project will involve the installation of either Insituform Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) or iPlus Composite on 4-inch to 84-inch diameter circular and box shape pipelines constructed of clay, concrete or brick.

According to the Istituform, iPlus Composite, the company’s fiber-reinforced CIPP product, is designed to provide both strength and stability to medium- to large-diameter pipelines.

Insituform CIPP, a jointless pipe-within-a-pipe structure suitable for rehabilitating wastewater pipelines with diameter ranging from 6 to 96 inches, is claimed to reduce infiltration, restore structural integrity and increase flow capacity of the pipelines.

These contracts strengthen Insituform’s East Asian platform as we continue to expand our operations into other markets throughout the greater China region."
