Balmoral Tanks invests in new purpose designed factory in UK

CTBR Staff Writer Published 22 June 2017

Scotland-based Balmoral Tanks has invested over £10m to build a purpose designed factory in South Yorkshire, UK.

The investment will also be used for upgrading its manufacturing processes for its variety of epoxy coated and concrete tanks.

Balmoral Tanks says that its investment in jobs, facilities, technologies, research and product development comes at a time of unmatched uncertainty faced by UK businesses and the manufacturing industry.

Balmoral Tanks is aiming to open the South Yorkshire factory in the fourth quarter of this year. The new facility will feature a new epoxy coating line, latest laser cutting technology and fabrication facilities along with an in-line shot blasting unit.

It plans to pursue new approvals like NSF 61 following the investment in the new factory.

According to Balmoral Tanks managing director Allan Joyce, the company is in a healthy position to invest in latest technology and has designed a plant and installed processes that will be at the frontline of coated tank technology.

Joyce added: “Supported by highly trained and committed personnel from technical sales and design through manufacturing, quality and installation, we offer these services either direct or through a network of strategically placed global agents.”

Balmoral Tanks currently carries out its design and production operations in Llantrisant, South Wales, and Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

It is a global supplier to the water, wastewater, anaerobic digestion (AD), fire fighting and processing industries.

Balmoral Tanks’ portfolio includes water and wastewater storage and processing products such as cylindrical bolted tanks, GRP and steel sectional tanks, concrete and epoxy coated tanks.

The company has installations on significant projects across Europe, Americas, the Middle East and Far East.
